Sensor / Cylinder 2 Digit Date Code
RKI sensors and gas cylinders are labeled with a 2 digit date
code that represents the product’s manufactured date.
1st Digit = The last digit of manufactured calendar
year (ex. year 2009 = 9)
2nd Digit = Month (X, Y, Z = month 10, 11, or 12
respectively)
Example: 9X = Manufacture date of Oct. 2009
Terminology
TLV - Threshold Limit Values. There are 3 categories of TLVs;
TWA, STEL, & Ceiling.
TWA - Time Weighted Average. The time-weighted average
concentration for a conventional 8 hour workday and a 40 hour
work week, to which it is believed nearly all workers may be
repeatedly exposed without adverse aect.
STEL - Short Term Exposure Limit. The concentration which is
believed that workers can be exposed continuously for a short
period of time without suering provided that the TWA is not
exceeded. STEL is dened as a 15 minute TWA exposure.
Ceiling - The concentration that should not be exceeded
during any part of the working exposure.
Parts Per Million (ppm) equivalence to % Volume
1 ppm = 0.0001 %
10 ppm = 0.001 %
100 ppm = 0.01 %
1000 ppm = 0.1 %
10,000 ppm = 1.0 %
100,000 ppm = 10.0 %
1,000,000 ppm = 100.0 %
